panning with trackpad is slow

Hi there.

I have an issue with trackpad panning. First of all, I use magic trackpad on my mac with macos Sierra.

Here is the issue. When I use panning gesture with two fingers the object is moving really slowly. I have to drag across whole trackpad many many times to get it on position I want. When I click on ,,pan hand" simbol down below (where obit is and so on). Then click by one finger pan is working fine and object is moving fast and exactly with mouse.

Is there any possibility to set up the speed of moving or so?

Than you for your advises.

Sincerely

Jan

Has anyone noticed improvements to this? I have a new Macbook Pro and the same issue - super slow panning with trackpad.

We have not directly addressed this from the Fusion side yet, but it's still on our radar.

How likely is it that this will be addressed in short time? Having it on the radar is good but sounds like it doesn't have and priority. By fixing this fusion becomes directly more usable for any mac user. It's a major ux problem and using a mouse is not a solution for me.

There are a hierarchy of trackpad-related issues to address, and panning speed independent of the OS is on that list. But, it's still below things like the Windows trackpad functionality, which currently does not exist at all.

There's no hard timeline for that, either, but that's something I am trying to lock down. Hardware input and gestures technically fall under our UI framework development, so we're also balancing with the need to fix existing bugs like macOS Spaces and the pop-through Browser/Comments frame.

Having the same issue, making working in fusion 360 extremely slow and annoying...

I figured out the solution (at least for my case), try re-homing the view (upper right hand corner) when you are having this issue, and then go back to the view you were at and try panning. Fixed it for me

@tranq006 thanks, this works. @lance.carocci because re-homing fixes the issue part time, this is a clear indicator that fusion calculates some kind of factor based on orientation / zoom level that gets stuck at some point.

So, should be fairly easy to fix it then. Please make it a priority as it's really annoying.

Auto desk please fix this im using a macbook air 2020 M1 chip, same issue as all above  i have my  macs general trackpad setting set to 2 below the max as above that is way to sensitive for general use. Scrolling up down and sideways is fine in every other app like photoshop or on canva etc, its just fusion 360 where the scroll speed is way to slow having to do multiple full passes of the trackpad to move across the plane a small amount

The newest Fusion build has improvements in trackpad panning. I'd like to hear your feedback about it.

Hi @Phil.E,

I'm finding that at least for me, panning and trackpad is working great now!  Thanks for all the hard work!

Mine still gets stuck in slow mode on occasion, but a re-home fixes it.
