Orbit reference

When working about models, it'll be handy to be able to select a vertex, edge, or face and have that as the central point of pivot/ orbit

You can do this now by pressing shift and the middle mouse button.  I find this method very cumbersome though because the selected orbit point will stay where you have selected, until you select another point.  It would be better if it cleared right away.

You just have to make sure in your preferences its set to constrainted orbit rather then free orbit.

 

Personally im a fan of it being placed until its reassigned.

To make it clear to others, the solution is holding ALT+ using the middle mouse button to orbit
