OMAX Intelli-Cam Add-in not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've created a solid in Fusion 360 and am now attempting to use the OMAX Intelli-Cam Add-in in Fusion to open my solid in Intelli-Cam. However when I click on the add-in nothing happens, not even an error message.

Wondering if anyone has run into this issue before, or if I might have missed something while installing the add-in.

Thanks!

kellynkusyk,

For support regarding any OMAX Software, please contact us at techsupport@omax.com.

In the menatime, before using the add-in in Fusion 360, make sure you have the following installed:

1) Intelli-MAX Software Version 23 Patch 2

2) Intelli-CAM Software Version 4.0.1.  Make sure that you have the correct version.  Earlier versions of Intelli-CAM will not work with the add-in.

Both of the software mentioned above can be downloaded from here (requires a login).

If you have already done the steps above, then we will need to examine the issue you are having further.  Again, please feel free to contact us at techsupport@omax.com.

Hmm... I'll check our code.  There should have been a message informing you of why the add-in wasn't working.

In the meantime, I'm glad that you were able to get the add-in working once you got the software installed.

i am having a very similar issue have tried multiple times. i am now uninstalling all and reinstalling all programs. the error i received is that graphics error once. but my graphics carrd is a RTX2060 runing diag 12,fusion is running 11.0, and intellicam is calling for 11.1 min. i am unsure if intellicam updated and it no longer works or if i am runing into and order of opperation istaltion issue. fusion and omax intellicam are working seperatley and running at the same time, but i have never been able to get them to work together.

Can you provide the specific error message that you are seeing when you run the add-in? That will help me attempt to diagnose what may be wrong.

Can you post a screenshot of the error message?

The add-in certainly doesn't have that message anywhere and I have searched the code for IntelliCAM and don't see anything like that either.

All the add-in does is saves the drawing that you have open as a SAT file and then launches IntelliCAM so that the file loads in whichever mode you chose. There is nothing in the add-in that cares about graphics or hardware and you mentioned that IntelliCAM opens fine on its own.

i have only received that error once. every other time it did nothing. i am trying to reinstall it in an order of operation agin to see it it works. making sure fusion was installed before the intelli cam. im guessing the erro was coincidental. also what version of omax intelli cam are other people using. i was using version 13 and having this issue.

I am not sure what is going on, but I would recommend the follwing:

1) Be sure to get the latest version of IntelliCAM, which is Version 13.0.0.0

2) Be sure to get the latest version of the IntelliCAM add-in for Fusion 360 from the Fusion 360 store. I did have to modify the code on the add-in about two months ago.

In the particular case of Fusion 360, it does not matter in which order you install, though I would recommend that you:

1) Install Fusion 360

2) Install IntelliCAM (13.0.0.0)

3) Install the add-in

For IntelliCAM, make sure that your computer meets the hardware requirements (which I think you already did, but here are the current specs):

Operating System: Windows 10 or later

Hardware:

  • 64-bit system (32-bit systems are no longer supported)
  • 3.26 Ghz Quad Core CPU or faster
  • 8GB RAM or more
  • 10GB of free hard drive space
  • GeForce 600 series GPU or better

@nate_webers I am at loss. Not to long ago factory reset my computer so did it again this morning and downloaded everything from scratch to make sure it was fine. started off installing fusion 360. then i downloaded IntelliCAM 13.0.0.0 which required me to first install omax intellimax premium (v32.0 patch 6) i know there is a 7th patch too but did the released one. after all of them were installed i had to re register my omax software. Then i finally installed the omax add in tool form fusion store. and it still dose not work. i click the omax export button on a part i create and nothing happens.  Thank you for all you help so far. This is the most help i've received. every thing works individually except the add in.

@spangler_jack, can you get me a screenshot of the error message? Like I said, the add-in itself wouldn't generate that message, but seeing the message may help me determine where it is coming from and advise further.

As for helping, no worries, I wrote the add-in, so I'm obligated to try 🙂
