Offset tool causing gaps but only for projected curves or when I use trim. Bug?

I don't understand this interaction, in certain circumstances I can get an offset spline to put the first part on the wrong side of a break line.  Like this:

The audio is really quiet, I'm having mic problems with my new computer and haven't figured it out yet.

Hi! I believe this is either a bug or a limitation in the way a spline curve is offset. You may consider using Extrude command to protrude the curve as a surface body. Then create an Offset surface at the desirable distance. After that, project the edges from the Offset surface to the sketch. This may work more reliably.
