Object disappears while converting .Stl to Iges

Hi All,

I am new to this forum .  I am trying to convert certain .stl files to .Iges.  As described else where in the forum I go to"  Create" and create  the base feature and go till the end of the steps at the But unfortunately at the last step when I click "Capture Design History"    the 3d Image disappears.

It doesn't happen always, but happens many times.  I convert the .stl file using "Meshmixer" to .obj file and then uses "Instant Meshes" and convert the mesh to quads.  In fusion I see the 3d object as quads in the golden color.  I read some where that the T Splines when they form makes a very smooth object but that does not happen in the cases where the object disappears.  I really doubt if the T Splines are not forming atall.  In those cases where the object is smooth the object does not disappear.

Thanks in in advance,

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Do you mind sharing the .f3d file with me (or the .obj file)? I can record a screencast of my workflow. A T-Spline entity after conversion in Fusion should show up as a purple symbol under the bodies menu in the browser tree. Once this is converted, the T-Spline body will need to be converted to a BRep before it can be exported as an IGES file type.

Thanks,
