Fusion 360 - dimension color in 2d drawings

Can we have at some stage red colored dimensions so they contrast with the part color, I am attaching a drawing showing what this illustrates.

Thanks for your kind attention,

Hi @Anonymous, thanks for posting your feedback. This is already an idea in the IdeaStation here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-ideastation-request-a/ability-to-change-color-of-dimension-lines-in-drawings-and-datum/idi-p/6324000

Give it a vote to help move this forward, and keep an eye on it for when the status changes.

Thanks,

Timera

I also want to have a different color for the dimensions in a drawing.

It's now very difficult to read.

In other mechanical CADs I was used to use red color for dimensions.

I don't think it's worth to fill in another idea or to vote in the idea section for this (I voted though).

Please make it happen. More than three years to make such a little change?

Please!!!

Seriously... adding dimension colors to this would be fantastic. I like how quickly I can create a 3d model in this program. But, if the "Drawing" feature can't plate models in a way that people can read them easily, it's pretty useless to me. I guess I'll just stick with autocad :/.

It has not been added to Fusion 360 yet.

Any updates on when this will get fixed?   Being able to choose colors for the drawing and the dimensions would be best.  having black drawing with a different color for dimensions and callouts would be OK.  Black with black, makes anything but the simplest design impossible to read.

No need to wait.

You could do this in Autodesk Inventor Professional as far back as I can remember (before Fusion even existed).

Make a standard for each desired color.

And how exactly should this help?

We have only a Fusion 360 license and don't want to change the program because of this.

It would be a huge improvement for 2d drawings if we could change the colors of the centerlines and dimensions.
I agree, my simplest drawing is very difficult to read due to the all black.

I hope this will be possible soon..

Hi @Anonymous, the Fusion 360 Drawings team have a mural board that they periodically update and as of the 14th October 2022 it shows that object colour control is a feature they've completed and in the hopper waiting for a Fusion 360 update so it's probably not too far away.

The function is available on the latest Fusion 360. Refer to the What's New of Oct release for more details.

Sketch dimensions in black and line drawings in black become very confusing. It would be very nice to put the dimension lines and values in multiple colors in sketch mode.

Hi,

This thread is not about the representation in sketches, but in drawings.
If you have change requests for the sketch representation, please create a new thread.

noted we can now change the color of all dimensions at once in the 'document settings' of the drawing.  How about changing the color of an individual dimension?  Like if I wanted a center line or specific dimension to be red? Is that possible? thanks!

In your Document Settings, in the 2D Drawing, select the indicated sections.

I see that it is now possible to change all dimensions to a different colour. Is it possible to change individual dimensions to different colours? For instance having blue be the standard and red for select dimensions?

No, in the Document Settings it states "All Dimensions" in the color settings.
