Not running on El Capitan beta 2

After updating my OS installation to OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" beta 2, Fusion 360 will no longer start up. It just shows an "application has encountered an unexpected authentication error and must be quit" message. Is this a known issue?

I did not install beta 1 of El Capitan, so I don't know if this issue is new with beta 2.

Please let me know if any additional information or logging would be helpful.

Hi @Anonymous and @GRSnyder,

I will send you a private message on how to workaround the issue (temporarily) until we address the issue.  Note that there may be other issues with Fusion 360 and El Capitan Beta 2 as we have not finished verifying it on that OS.

Thank you,

Kris Berg

I've found a workaround for the latest version of El Capitan and Fusion 360 (June update).

Thank you very much! It at least allows me to work in online mode (somehow when I turn the wifi on it doesn’t allow me to work online, anyway, that’s the risk of beta testing…

Best regards

Hi, I'm having the same problem in El Capina Beta 3 (15A216g).

The workaround for turning off the network does let me run the app in offline mode, but I can not login and then it tellme me I have run in offline mode for to long and quits.  😞

Funny thing is I have never used Offline mode before?Screen Shot 2015-07-10 at 4.26.32 PM.png

It's a mess with this beta 3 release. Currently, I've no workaround for this.

My only recommandation is:

1. Create a Yosemite USB Installer and than reinstall OS X.

2. Run Windows or Yosemite into a VM, like Parallels / VirtuialBox.

Otherwise, we have to wait for Autodesk's and Apple's developers to fix incapabilities.

Kind regrads

Hi, I’m not sure if it’s at all related, but I have a gut feeling that this might be the problem. (from a purely lay perspective)

"When negotiating a TLS/SSL connection with Diffie-Hellman key exchange, OS X El Capitan requires a 1024-bit group or larger. OS X El Capitan will not connect to a server that allows negotiation with a 512-bit or smaller group.”

Again, I’m not sure if it helps at all, hopefully you will find a solution to the problem.

Best regards

@Anonymous

I have also read about this. That might be possible but didn't explain why the AppStore Version isn't also working. I'n my experience, Apple is caring about the compatibility of allready approved Mac / iOS AppStore Apps.

Yosemite version 10.10.4 is listed as requiering the new minimum Diffie-Hellman key exchange group size of 2048 bits and Fusion 360 works as expected.

So I guess thats not the issue.

Yosemite 10.10.4 was released on Jun 30, 2015. Have you been already updaded?

In case, this doesn't cause those erros, what else could it be? It's pretty annoying.

I have been using 10.10.4 since it's first beta version and never had an issue with Fusion 360 on it.

I only just put El Capitan beta on my laptop satering with Beta 2 to test for issues like this.

I dont understand, who is installing a new desktop system in beta status on a productive system.

This is not clever!

I still guess, that's an authentification process error and the TLS/SSL systemwide policy change could explain why Fusion 360 would start in offline mode and get an auth error at startup.

Last but not least, Autodesk whole website is buged with SSL errors / bad practices.

Litle note: I'd like to change my username here at the forum but didn't found any setting for so far.
