Not allowed to select the Component in Create Flat Pattern file from STEP

I think I found a problem with Sheet Metal.

1) I created a sheet metal component in fusion 360

2) I created a Flat Pattern from the component

3) I exited the Flat Pattern

4) I exported the component to a STEP file

5) For this test, I made a component from file in a new folder.

6) I enabled Save History and selected Sheet Metal for this component

7) I tried to create a Flat Pattern from the component again.

8) I was not allowed to select the component in the Create Flat Pattern process. 

That is a problem. 

If I sent these STEP files to someone running Solid Works, I think they will not be able to flatten these STEP files. 

In fact, I cannot unfold these Sheet Metal components made from my STEP files in Fusion.

I don't think they have added this in yet, I did your steps to inventor it did not work ever, I have to look back through I think it was working in inventor I cant rember.

I wonder if SolidWorks can do it?  I will have the shop check in the next few days.  I didn't try exporting to STEP as a flattened file. I exported to STEP as a unflattened, flattened file.  Maybe that might be different.

Is it possible to output a DXF file from the original flattened Sheet Metal component in Fusion?  If so, I can't find the command.  Do you know where it is?
