Non-Parametric tools to avoid

I've read in different messages and places about avoiding "move" and "align" since they are not parametric. But "joint" can achieve the same function and is parametric.

Is there a current list of tools that are in each of those two categories? And hopefully the parametric solution to a non-parametric one.

I'm looking for how to best to avoid issues.

Full disclosure, I had been a very prolific user of "align" and sparingly "move".

If you do need to use the Move command, Translate and Rotate can accept Parametric values.  Avoid Free Move.

There is no context to speak to, regular responders here make those recommendations, to assist new people from unexpected results in the modeling file.

There are other tools to avoid, in the Create Menu, they are bracketed, Box to Pipe, also have varying limits to parametric results, as you go through that list, Coil and Pipe are useful.

My argument would not be to avoid because they are not parametric, (actually Move can be parametric), but because there are times when they are absolutely the best technique but are almost always used in the wrong case uses.

So rather than avoid use, know when and how to best use.

You have said it better than my initial post. Is there any chart, list, bullets on generic when and how?
