No options for boundary condition on surface patch

Hi, I'm trying to insert a patch with tangential edge conditions to the existing surfaces. When I select the entire loop for the patch then there is no option to define the edges at all. Please enlighten me as to what I have done wrong.

Thanks,

Iwan

Unable to enlighten you as to what you have done wrong with this little amount of info given. Don't have a model to go by to see what you are referencing.

If the boundary  is 4-sided, you want to always use a loft, not a patch.

The patch tool should only be used as a last resort.
