Newbie Regarding Laptop Upgrade

Going to be a personal home hobbiest for my slot car addiction.

(Bridges, small buildings, figures....)

My existing laptop (Win 10) loaded Fusion but took a while plus ages to open and run.

Sluggish.

Older Thinkpad with Intel i5-4300M with 8GB ram and builtin GeForce GT730 with 1GB ram.

Looking at two laptops and would appreciate opinion - both are same price.

ASUS TUF A16 AMD Ryzen 7 16GB and GeForce RTX4050 graphics....Win 11 Home

Or

ASUS TUF F17 Intel Core 5-210H 16GB and GeForce RTX3050 graphics....Win 11 Home

HI!

Both are similar and will be better then the one you have.

I prefer Intel, and Nvidia Graphic card, but that is a personal choice.

Hi,

In this case the Ryzen 7 has more grunt than an Intel i5 and a 4050 is one generation

better than a 3050. It is a no brainer choice to get the AMD offering. 16Gb of RAM

should be plenty and you could always upgrade or add later. As @CCarreiras has

suggested, either would be better than what you have now.
