Newbie question: creating a specific angle pyramid

Anonymous

Hi guys,

I'm new to Fusion 360 but have some experience with other more mundane 3d packages. I want to make a pyramid that has a flat top with two conditions I can't figure out:

- I want the angle of the base going upwards to have a specific angle (most important)

- I want to be able to set the height of the pyramid (less important

Does anybody have any tips for a new user?

Example of such a pyramid:

On the basis that you know those particulars,

use Extrude for the square, with (known) taper angle, the height as you wish.

Might help....

Thanks for your reply! It doesn't quite work the way I expected it would.

I get the below:

While I am looking for a 76 angle on the slope like:

More ideas are welcome 🙂

Have you tried setting the taper to 90°-76°? So 14° taper.

Use -14 degrees.

90 - 76 = 14.

Yeah, the taper angle is in degrees off of the extrude direction. It's a bit curious - once you saw it was way too steep - that your brain didn't immediately have an "aha" moment.

But I won't hold it against you. With increasing frequency as I age, I'll cruise right on past my highway exit and won't realize it for a few minutes.

Simple, be analogue to get more control. See this easy procedure by which you will get more control using a little bit of more time.

Put down the doughnuts while driving.

It may or may not be a coincident that the doughnut shop is a few minutes past my usual highway exit.

Haha that explains it 😉 For me it's that I'm learning this program in my evening hours, during which I find I am not the sharpest XD
