Newbie: Created snap box with mid body split, need to edit, hair falling out!

Hello,

First post.

I'm getting to grips with Fusion 360 (Never used a CAD application before, so it's all new to me). I've created this design: http://a360.co/2nP0OYZ

The design is edited via user parameters, so I can dynamically change the box dimension, thickness and tolerance. The issue is I created a mid plane split, but upon reflection realised I should have split the box at the top, making the box more versatile.

I've gone back in the timeline and tried altering the initial body split but it sends things spiralling out of control, and even after refining sketches, it seems the design no longer responds correctly when I change things via the parameters; I've spent a good couple of hours trying to make this change without success 😞

Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance,

Mark

That was a easy fix,

What I did was I Moved the timeline to before you did the mid plane then put in an offset plane in before the mid plane.

Then moved the timeline to after the mid plane then canceled the mid plane selection and picked the offset plane and the top of the box for the selection.

Then moved the timeline back to the end.

That moved the split up and your model did not collapse.

When you're editing something in your model move the timeline to just before it or after it to do the edit.

Or activate its component then move the timeline.

Have a look up Rule 1 it's in tips and tutorials, It's a rule to live by. And can save you A lot of time.
