Basically, there are three types of rectangle functions. 2-point, 3-point, and center. The 2-point allows you to select opposing corners of a rectangle and quickly draw it out, dimensioning later. The 3 point allows you to select three corners to achieve the same thing on an arbitrary angle. Center is like 2-point except that instead of selecting opposing corners you select the center and an arbitrary corner.
What seems to be missing is another type of 2-point rect where you select not opposing corners but a midpoint of one of the rectangle sides and then one of the two opposing corners so that the resulting rectangle is fixed to a point on your sketch and extending 3 directions from that point.
Maybe I'm just lazy but I seem to be doing this a lot and end up having to draw the rectangle off-element and aligning with constraints or use multiple sketch lines just to add a simple rectangle.
