New Drawing not getting latest part model

Hello All,

I'm trying to create drawings from components inside of an assembly. Here's the general flow of events:

  1. I create a drawing (by right clicking on the component in the side bar -> create drawing)
  2. I realized the part needs changes so, I close the drawing without saving
  3. I edit the part within the assembly and save the assembly
  4. I create a new drawing of the same part, however the drawing view doesn't show the updated part.

Is there a way to rebuild the model before creating a new drawing? Am I doing something incorrectly? This has happened on multiple occasions. I supposed I could save the part in step 2 above and then use the update feature to pull in the new changes to the drawing, however I've also had some trouble with that feature realizing there has been an update in the model. Regardless, I'm still confused why the model isn't getting updated in the first place. Thanks to everyone in advance!

edit: I'm using 2.02271 on Mac 10.10.5

Hi evanrlew,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with creating drawings.

I have a couple of suggestions you could try to fix this:

1. In the Design, run 'Compute All' from the Modify Panel menu, save and try to create a new drawing / update the existing drawing:

Modify.png

2. Back up and delete the local file cache by following the steps in post #12 (by Ahsan) in this thread which discussed a similar issue: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/old-versions-loading/m-p/6471042#M66597

If neither of these work for you, could you attach / share a public link to your design?

Thanks,

Krithika
