Hi all 

 

I'm new to Fusion (coming from Solidworks) I'm trying to model up a barn door that has many different tongue and groove boards running down the center. Each board needs to be a different length and each end has a 45 degree cut on it. Ideally what I would like to do is create one tongue and groove board with the 45's already on it. Then duplicate it and just change its length, but I'm having a tough time figuring out how to do that. Any suggestions or a better way would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, 

 

I would do it by not "Copy/Paste" the component but "Copy/Paste New" the component. I've created a little screen cast to show "trick":

Perhaps I should add some more comments:

 

As you can see, my workflow starts by creating a component. So every thing is nicely packaged and could be handled like described in Rule #1. You can not use User Parameters for this, because those would change again all components regardless you used "Paste" or "Paste New".
