Need to make a semicircle fit snugly around a circular object. Any technique suggestions?

EDIT: Calling this resolved for now.. I think I need to redesign this with semicircle arcs instead of circles, and pivot around the end point to bring in the clamping pressure.

I've created this model, which is a 3D printed part that clips around the top of a jar. It is precision modeled and fits perfect, but because it fits perfect, it's too loose and just spins freely around the jar, and I need it to fit snugly.
I don't want to shrink the circle dimensions, otherwise it will no longer fit properly.
What I need to do is somehow "pinch" the two sides together to create a little bit of tension and pressure around the neck of the jar, without altering the overall diameter once it is spread back open, and retain the exact 120°opening pictured above. Because this was designed using precisely defined circles, I don't know how to alter this to do what I want.
I don't know if this (below) is the best solution, but it's all I can think of, and I'm not sure how to go about it. How can I create tension?
How would you handle this? Thank you 😊
