I apologize as this is not a question directly about Fusion, but relates to the projects I do on it. I am looking for a program that I can input the various sections/lengths I need to be cut (eg: a table made out of square tubing, so there is the 6 legs at 800mm each, and two top pieces at 1900mm each, and the other two top pieces at 2900mm), and also input the lengths that the tube is sold in (in this case 8m lengths) and then the computer would tell me the best arrangement of the sections I need cut within the 8m lengths the material comes in.
Obviously I can just add up the sections to get my total length needed, and then divide by 8m, but that just tells me the minimum material I need to buy, I might need to purchase more lengths if the sections I need cut don't fit neatly into 8m lengths. Also I want to minimize the wastage, so it's important to find the BEST arrangement of the sections within 8m lengths. I can't find anything on Google, as I'm having a hard time figuring out the right search terms to use, but I'm sure this type of calculator exists somewhere.
All suggestions very welcome!
