Need some guidance on converting this mesh into a parametric model

I'm looking to convert this mesh into a parametric model. The problem is, the regular operations like extrude and revolve, do not work for this. This model has curves that don't conform to those basic solid tools available.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Hi

This curved surface can be achieved with Loft or Patch.

I've attached a file with a first attempt, but this is a non-trivial compound shape. More work is needed.

The question is, of course, how precise do you want to be?

This is a scanned object that has already been modified, which makes it difficult to "read" the entire shape.

Hi @TrippyLighting That is actually very close and it's definitely good enough and I can fine tune if needed. Yes it is actually an inverse mold of something I had scanned in. I really appreciate the help!

Also what do you mean by "reading" the entire shape? Did you have some automated tool to analyze the shape or was it all done manually?

Another way is using Form

Save your mesh as an *.obj

Use instant meshes to transform it to a quad mesh

As you can see I have added a Bevel at the top. The sharp edge is hard to calculate

Then load your mesh into your design in Fusion and open it in Rorm tool

Konvert the quad mesh to T-Spline

Extrude a rectangle on top to remove the bevel for calculation and ...

Thank you so much @marcus.toepke for pointing me to the Instant Meshes software. That is indeed a lifesaver. I ended up converting the form to a surface and built off of that.
