Need help on how I tackle this part

Hi Guys, I’m in need of a fast bit of help and am hoping someone can shed some light on how I tackle drawing the part I’m trying to create.

i need to draw an iron basket used on ornamental ironwork such as gates and railings. As in attached picture.

I cant for the life of me work out how to do the spiral. It’s made from 4 10mm square bars. 90mm in total length.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Intersection between surfaces and then Sweep and Pattern.

File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d attempt here.

Hi,

thank you for such a swift reply. Unfortunately I don’t really have anything to upload, I keep trying things to make it work but just don’t know how. I’ve tried things such as loft between two planes but I can’t get any spiral onto it. I’ve only been using fusion for a month or so now, tbh I can’t even get it to work on Turbocad.

This same problem is all over YouTube.

Start with a Revolved Surface of an appropriate open profile something like this.

Then Attach your *.f3d file here for next step.

I would have done the axis of revolution and the two horizontal lines as Construction.

I would have fully defined the arcs (no blue curves).

Then I would Sweep a line as a helical surface.

Next you will find the Projected Intersection to create Sweep Path for square sketch or you might be able to use Pipe.

There is a little bit more to it to get the transition to straight vertical, but this should keep you busy for a while.

Here's another approach.  I just eyeballed the 3d spline, but it could be tamed with some will placed planes and sketches .
