Hi

I try model bottle in Fusion 360 consist of cap and bottle.

1/I export obj they will be single object when I import to blender. How can I keep them separate?

2/ When I export Save to stl. they will be not smooth. Detail as below:

How can I fix it?

to export as obj you will have to make each body into a separate component, turn on the one you want to export (hide the other), and export from the file menu

but there isn't any real need to do this.   your going to get the same triangulated mesh as you would if you exported as .stl , not a nice quad mesh like you might be hoping for.  You might as well just export as an .stl file (right click the body and "save as .stl")

Why would to not design such a dead simple object directly in Blender?

Hi @TrippyLighting

I'm trying workflow. Because Blender may be helpful in rendering for me.

Hi @laughingcreek

As your instruction, I use Create Component from Bodies. Export obj

They're still single model when I import into Blender.

Did you try it?

OK. You might try .fbx as the export format. hs also exports triangulated mesh files.

It preserves the component structure in the browser in one file.

It does not allow you to specify the resolution of the output meshes and you're stuck with what you've got.

.fbx is also a could converter and it is not as immediate as the .stl export from within Fusion 360.

Hi @TrippyLighting

FBX can keep hierarchy and sperate body. Great

About stl file, they will be converted quickly. however they will break into many small faces vertical as picture below:

Do you have any suggests or setting?

Yes. I did.  Did you follow instructions (turn on the component you want to export and hide the component you don't want to export)?

you want separate models?

-Show cap,hide bottle-export

-hide bottle, show cap-export

-import them both into blender.
