navigating camera up fails

I'm not sure what to call it. It seems that the camera gets stuck in gimble lock or something like that. If you want to inspect the top of something you may move the camera up near the top. You aren't exactly 90deg from the top, so you Shouldn't be in gimble lock, but fusion seems to frequently change the camera up to a different axis. Now navigating is nearly impossible. If you orbit around fairly wildly, you can get it back, or hit or another defualt view. But this is a huge pain in the rear. There's no way that's the intended behavior.

A bug? Not sure. I just know it can't be the intended behavior.

You may want to create a screencast to show that behavior.

If I could get it to happen again I would.

But it seems too many things only happen Sometimes. During my attempt to do that again I wasn't able to use scroll to zoom, but everything else was working properly. After clicking an object, I was then able to scroll to zoom. I rarely notice that because it's not my preferred method anyway, but I thought it was worth noting that it only started working again once I clicked an object. I had clicked in the window, but not an object.

I can get the view to wobble a bit when the camera is at the top. Moving left/right seems backward to what it should be when you're really high up, but it goes away as soon as you go to lower the camera again. The problem I have had before though, was when I went to lower the camera, the entire object was sideways until you did a few loops. Yeah, I know....hard to describe without a video. If I can repeat it again I'll show it, IF I can do it on a model I can show.

The closest I can come to what I was getting before is if you move the camera all the way to the top of your object from a regular perspective. Then rotate left/right a few times. If it doesn't mess up, orbit slightly, and try again. I can get it to fail every 2/3 times. Moving the mouse left, will work properly for a second, but keep moving and it reverses direction suddenly without you moving directions with the mouse. Slightly strange behavior, but definitely better than before. Before it was straight up flipping sideways.

@Anonymous,

Since you can get it to fail 2/3 times, can you please provide us with a screencast so that we can see what you see.

Right now I am not understanding what it is that you are seeing.

Thank you for your patience with us while we try and understand what you are seeing.
