Multiple Rotations in Animation Mode

Hello Fusion Community,

I am trying to make  a visual representation of a very complex movement, or in other words, an animation.

I managed to make my model work with components and joints, motion studies and motion links. unfortunately there is no possibility (within fusion) to export this motion as a video or GIF or snippet without browser, cursor and other stuff in the frame.

So i tried to make an animation, which is able to export very neat video formats, only to find that multiple rotations are not possible. My model looks similar to a planetary gearset.

is it possible to animate the two motions of a planetary gear, which rolls off the sun gear (motion one) and orbits around the sun gear (motion two)?

If so: HOW?

If not: WHY? looks to me like a pretty essential feature.

Thanks in advance for all your tips and ideas.

You are may be looking for how to Render a Motion Study in Fusion 360.  There are a number of videos on the web, here is oneAlso here is the webpage talking about the process.

Thanks for the quick reply. But thats not what i want. I want an animation, not a rendering. i want my motion to look comprehensive, not nice.

So is there a way to animate rotations of one component around different (but parallel) axes possible?

You must not have read or looked at the video.  Rendered Animations are the best you are going to get with Fusion 360 if you do not want to see the screen garbage you mentioned.

By the way, do not use "Quick Reply" as that addresses your Forum post to yourself, use "Reply" on the Forum post you are addressing.

I have watched the video, but still i want to make an animation. With the camera panning option and all.

So again (in case you didnt read my initial question):

Is there a way to animate rotations of one component around different (but parallel) axes?

In the initial post you were objecting to all the screen garbage if you simply animate the model in the Design Workspace, this is why I recommended the Rendered Animation.  You can also capture the Design Workspace animation without the background "garbage" if you have access to a descent video capture application.  Here is a quick example.

Thanks, you are completely right, but its still not helpful. you are bringing up valid solutions on how to capture videos from FUSION, and i am asking how to animate objects in the Animation workspace.

How to animate (Not render, not motionlink, not motionstudy) two different axes?

(TBH its for a mecanum wheel, which makes things even a bit more complicated. but i would settle for a planetary gearset).

@ninolemann

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

I made a small model of my problem. Can you animate the two rotation joints? No Motion link, no Motion study, just an animation.

What you are desiring is not possible in the Animation Workspace.  Each component has an independent rotation axis, in the animation timeline, and they cannot be related.  You can animate each one together but the knob will not stay with the rotating arm.

Thanks for your reply.

This is disappointing, another shortcoming of FUSION. I hope the developers are reading along...

I will accept your answer as a solution, to hopefully spare others from wasting time on a thing that totally should be implemented in a reputable CAD software, but simply doesn't exist in FUSION.
