Moving Features in the Timeline

I activated a component and did a few operations, namely the creation of an offset plane, a sketch, and an extrusion. Only then did I realize that I really needed those three operations to occur BEFORE a prior Feature in the timeline, a Feature that would rely on those operations having been accomplished before  it.

So I selected the three Features and did a drag-and-drop in the timeline to place those Features before the one that relied on them, which was only about four items to the left of where I had originally created them. Fusion took about twenty minutes to process that drag-and-drop (it's a ridiculously huge project), reporting several error messages during the processing warning me of Circular References, and when it was finally done, no change had been made to the timeline. The three Features were right where I had initially created them.

IT APPEARS to me that when you select more than one Feature to move, even when they are contiguous Features, the Drag-And-Drop does not move them all as one composite set but rather one at a time in (possibly) reverse order, moving the right-most one first and proceeding right-to-left. That could account for why it thinks there are circular references or errors, at least when it hasn't yet finished doing all the moves.

I was left with the Features un-moved. I then tried just moving the left-most Feature to the desired location (doing them one at a time). Again it took about twenty minutes of processing. This time it showed no error messages. But when it was done the Feature that I had tried to move was simply GONE from the timeline. Not in the new location, not in the old location.

So, very weird behavior from Drag-And-Drop in re-ordering the timeline.

To get around that I am deleting the three Features, setting the scroll bar to the point where I need those Features to be, and recreating them there.

But it leaves me wondering why re-ordering the timeline via Drag-And-Drop doesn't seem to work.

Do them one at a time,

start with work geometery, planes and axis icons first, sketches next, features after those, see how far you can move, (it's live for me without dropping them, the icon will only go as far as a circular dependency will let it,)

If the workplane can't go, anything attached to it will be prevented too.

Might help....
