Hi there,

I'm new to Fusion 360. I've physically made the device in the file attached so i know that it will move. i have changed bodies to components. made rigid groups, identified grounded elements, applied joints and corrected any errors however it will not move. any ideas?

kind regards

Hi @Anonymous,

The joints look fine; it looks like you're not able to drag them because you're in direct modeling mode. You can animate them by right clicking on one of the joints and selecting "animate joint,' but direct modeling mode doesn't allow you to drag components around because it doesn't capture component positions in space like parametric mode does. You'll notice you can't drag non-jointed components around in direct modeling mode like you can in parametric, either-- if you'd like to switch to parametric mode (capturing design history), then you can drag/pull the joints as expected. If you're interested, this thread has some more information about it.
