Move sketch from one component to another

Is there any way to move a sketch from the general sketches folder to a sketch folder within a sub component?

For example, I make a new sketch and then extrude the sketch into a new body. I then convert the body to a component. I want the initial sketch to be foldered in the browser under the new component, but it doesn't seem like it can move.

Hi,

Please insert the mp4 file directly and not via a link.

Sorry, I don’t understand you. It’s possible that you didn’t understand me either. I asked the user andronick.mail, who claims that it’s still possible to transfer sketches, to record a video showing how he does it and post it in this thread.

On my side, I’m getting an error — I uploaded a screenshot of it.

I have no idea what MP4 you’re talking about, how it relates to me, or where I supposedly posted a link. And, as I said at the beginning, I don’t understand what you’re referring to.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

I will make a YouTube video using your actual data.

Hey,

Here we go. Try to move sketch1 to component1.

Thank you

Be careful of the parent/child dependencies that you create (a child cannot exist before its parent).

So it turns out that the sketch drag functionality still doesn’t work. On the other hand, I want to thank you for taking the time to show how it can be done using the workaround you suggested — and overall, it works for me. I really appreciate it, thank you again.

I know I'm late to the party, but it seems one can move a sketch from one component to another, from parent to child and from child to parent by dragging it from its current location on top of the desired location. NOT directly into the desired sketch folder, just on top of the desired component/parent, it then automatically pops ito its sketch folder.

Going forward, it then also keeps all its parametrics, meaning, if you change the sketch in its new location, it does all the changes in your file too.
