Move sheet metal rules into the library

Hi all,

how is it possible to move the rule just created for a sheet metal into the library with another name?

Each time I make a new sheet metal, I've to reassign the rules.

Library is always empty.

Thanks

Marco

P.S.: AUTODESK, please remember to make possible to change the K factor, at least.

Yes, You can create the copy for created User Rule and give new Name:-

1. Right Click on that Rule and select "New Rule" for copy current Rule.

2. "New Rule" command available when you mouseover on rule.

Please go though attachment, where you can find Video for detail Workflow.

Thank you sagar.patilNL6H2.

Ok for the correct workflow... but why can you edit (it seems editable) the k factor while I can't?

I'm correctly updated.

Thanks

Regards

Marco

@Anonymous,

In next week's update, flat pattern will be added to the sheet metal preview.  At this time you will be able to edit the K-Factor.  @patilsm, is using a internal build and that is why he had the ability to edit it now.

Cheers,

When you say "next week"... would that now be "this week"? Am about to do a sheet metal design for work and if this feature drops we can avoid spending lots of $$$ on an expensive contractor with an expensive CAD license!

Hi Mike,

I'm excited about the new release! I'm beginning using it and I can confirm (however I guess you are pretty sure :-)) that k-factor editing is active and works right compared with other cad systems.

I've used same model on some other cad systems and the flat patterns are the same in all platforms, so very good job.

Other plus: you can export the whole drawing in dwg. Now, in the meanwhile that you add the dxf exporting capability, we can use that export mode.

However, I'm facing with a problem that you can see in the image attached:

Hidden - Drawing.jpg

As you can see, the shape of the model disappears form drawings when exported in dwg.

Can you help me, please?

Thanks a lot and good job

Marco

Hi Marco,

This is a known issue with other applications not able to read AutoCAD specific data associated with those missing objects.  Please read this thread on the same issue:

Hi Gautham,

I've done some tests and, yes, autocad opens it correctly.

So, this is ok.

I've not clear how can I insert a flat pattern into a ready made drawing and not using the file command "New drawing-From design".

So, I've a drawing opened, How can I insert a new flat pattern? Each time I re-open the drawing, the flat pattern comes back to bent status.

Thank you

Marco
