Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the Fusion 360 online community - Thanks for posting!

Unfortunately, the viewer in A360 does not allow folks your design has been shared with to move the joints. You could, however, create an animation illustrating the motion of your design in the Animation workspace. Animations are brought into the A360 viewer and can be seen by everyone the design is shared with.

Hopefully this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind Regards,

Hi,
Thanks for reply

Do you mean that I (as designer) can only record some animation and share this video to others?
So viewers are not allowed to - for exapmle - open and close the door (which I can)?

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the reply! Due to limitations with the A360 Viewer program, folks you share your design with will not be able to edit the model in the viewer. This includes using the joints to move parts of an assembly. You will notice that if you drag a component in your design in Fusion 360, a "Capture Position" prompt will appear in the Ribbon. This move is considered an model feature, which the A360 viewer cannot process.

You can work around this by creating an animation or having the folks you shared the design with download a copy and open it in Fusion 360. Animations will be shown in the A360 viewer, and after downloading the design, team members will have the ability to edit the model in any way in Fusion 360, including checking the motion of the joints.

Hopefully this clears things up! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind Regards,

Thanks Paul,

I am not happy with it.

I need something that I can share my project with customers where they can move parts (ex. open and close door of cabinet) by themself without neccesity to have installed any CAD soft.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for the response - I understand the inconvenience of this A360 viewer limitation. You could try posting a request to have joint motion included in the A360 viewer on the Fusion 360 Ideastation, but I must warn you that it is unlikely that it will be implemented. That is because, in order to restrain and compute joint motion, a more robust program (such as a CAD platform) is required. The A360 viewer is only intended for viewing and commenting on designs.
