Move not updating with changed parameters

The specs for the 'move' command don't appear to update when parameters are changed. Steps to replicate:

1. create a parameter, say A,

2. copy and move a component with the move command, specifying one of the move values to be A (say move in the x axis by A)

3. now change A to a different value. The copied component will stay in the same location.

Is this intended behavior? How do I parametrically space two components specifying complex geometry (like moving AND turning?) I realize I can do this with the rectangular pattern tool. Is there another tool I am missing?

Hi @Anonymous,

Your observation is correct.  Component movement is not parametric.  Components are meant to be freely draggable.  The preferred way to position components with respect to other components are through Joint commands.  So, you could always create a Rigid joint between components with an offset where the offset is driven by a parameter.  This relationship will update parametrically.
