Motion study issue

I made the following mechanism to generate pseudo-irregular motion from constant rotation.

eccentricGearMotion.png

The motion link and joints all seem to work. The model moves as expected when manipulated with the mouse.

I want to see the motion when the pinion is rotated about its eccentric axis at a constant rate with respect to the frame. The 'drive-pinion' motion study attempts to do this, but doesn't work.

The 'drive-planet-tierod' study does not produce the motion I want, but it does work, which seems to suggest that the model itself is valid.

The file is attached if you'd like to see it for yourself.

Can you spot anything I'm doing wrong?

It looks like it just doesn't like the start position, move it a small amount and it works.

Interesting.  ...though in my case (mac laptop) the animation is too choppy to really see the motion properly.  And it's _way_ too fast... but I've complained about that before.

Thanks!
