Hi All,
Please could somebody explain to me the difference between moment load and remote force when it comes to stress analysis in fusion 360. I have attached a picture to help my explanation.
Basically i have a bracket that will be mounted to the side a wall. Sitting on the top face of the bracket will be a centrifugal fan and i know the centre of mass will be 450mm away from wall that the bracket is fixed to.
My initial thought was to use the Moment load option because i know the weight of the fan and how far away it is from the fixing point, therefor i could work out a moment force (Nm)
I then came across the Remote force option of which i know nothing about. It let me apply a Force (N) and position it the required distance away from the fixing point (450mm).
My initial thoughts were that i would get the same result from the testing, but with moment load i had Factor of safety 15 and something like 2.8 for the remote force results.
Please could somebody advise if i should be sticking with the moment load for this application or remote force?
Many thanks
