Modify multiple sketch item diameters?

Anonymous

I have a drawing that I want to modify the sketch item properties/dimension at the same time but I'm not finding the secret to do it... In AutoCad its a right click and properties...

So how do I modify 16 entities diameters from .3125 to .330 at the same time?

Thanks.

Dimension one, let’s say it’s reference becomes D23,

make the others equal, then you change the original dimension,

or reference the original to the others, by typing D23 into the dimension box on the others.

If done either way you can also edit D23, in the Parameter window.

Might help....

I've tried to make them equal but get an error when attempting "Failed to resolve. Please try revising dimensions or constraints".

File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here and end all doubt.

You have a lot of blue (unconstrained) geometry and a lot of repeated dimensions.

I recommend to my students that they create one line or one rectangle or one circle  or one arc and dimension it immediately.  Continue this procedure as your go.

Use Constraints in preference over dimensions.

Use Pattern features in preference over patterns of sketch elements.

Edit: And make use of obvious symmetry and use Fillet Features rather than sketch Fillets.

As requested..

I've tried to be more Fusion like when drawing. I know what I want to do but getting there is totally different thing..

 Thanks,

I notice that your drawing contains 4 separate sketches, what is the purpose for that?

I'm still trying to use/learn Fusion and just struggled with some of the most basic things that AutoCad does easily as a comparison. I'm sure it's the student...

Thanks,

I could have done it all in 1 sketch of course - but it might be easier to eat an elephant in little bites.

Especially if I need to bring a bite back up for a bit more chewing.

Making them equal does not seem to work with circles. Just dimension one. Then double click on the dimension of the next one. Once the number (0.313) is highlighted, click on the dimension of the first one. As another reply mentioned, then a reference is created (Dxx, where xx is the reference number for the first dimension). Then press enter. Now you can double click each dimension and change it to Dxx. Once you do that for all, if you change the first one to another number, it should automatically change them all. So you will have to do this from the beginning or there are no short cuts (that I am aware of) to go around and change a bunch like AutoCAD.

Seeing is believing, I would have to see that.

Many thanks for the posts and suggestions.

The solution I was after was modifying a group of "related" objects but it appears that Fusion360 has a different interpretation than AutoCad with that and you have to constrain each object first then it will work as a group of objects, I hope that's correct. So in this case I think

You can set multiple entities Equal (=) in one shot, but of course you would first have to remove all of those redundant dimensions.

I just deleted all circle diameter dimensions except one.

Window selected a bunch of circles in your sketch.

Right click and select = Equal.
