Modify a Body Profile Created by Revolve Command

My name is Nick and I started using Fusion 360 about 2 weeks ago with no prior 3D design experience. With the help of primarily this forum and some Youtube tutorials, I managed to become 'good enough to be dangerous' in the program. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone in this community who is willing to help others.

I have an interesting project I am working on and need some help on modifying a body. This design is a locomotive horn. I constructed each trumpet by drawing half of the side profile and then revolving around an axis, then using the shell command, etc. Per the prototype, the largest of the trumpets does not have a completely circular 'mouth' on the front and is more oval shaped. (See photographs).

I need to modify this body to appear more ovular at the front and have been searching the internet for tips on how to do this. I am guessing that it isn't possible since I used the revolve command and will require having to completely redraw the body and then using the loft command but I am hoping somehow I can modify the work I've previously done instead of starting fresh.

Does anyone have some suggestions on how I can go about doing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you all and I really love learning this program!

Correct, you might be able keep and use the revolve profile, contour line as one of the Loft rails.

Sketch the rear and front profiles on the faces of the original revolve,

make the appropriate rail curves (4 is useful) and loft / shell.

Then Remove the original Revolve body do not delete it.

But if starting from scratch I saved some sketching time. Half circle on top, and Ellipse half on the bottom.

Dave,

Thank you for the help. I came up with this. The side profiles look great but when I use the shell command, the inside doesn't look much like a horn. It should still be rather smooth on the inside. I'm guessing that it has to do with my sketch curves since they have multiple points. I've attached the file here for your review.

You could add profiles by using intersection the rails and loft without rails.

With arc top profile, I expected the east north and west rails to be the same, they were not.  More Profiles at the big end after the rails were fixed.  2 Lofts for a tangent connection, and looks perfect this end.

Thank you so much! Your help has been invaluable. Being only about 2 weeks into 3D design space and coming exclusively from vector 2D design, sometimes it is hard for me to wrap my head around how I need to draw something. I viewed everyone's files and eventually started from scratch and used the method that wersy suggested.

Attached some photos of the finished project.

Thanks again!

Hi Nick,

If the horn is rotationally symmetrical, you can also use the revolve tool.

Just saw, you wrote "the largest of the trumpets does not have a completely circular 'mouth' on the front and is more oval shaped"
