Modifications related to timeline and version question

If I open the newest version of a project and modify a sketch is the sketch retroactively modified in older versions of the project? For example, if I open version 7 of a project and modify a sketch drawn in version 2 by using "edit sketch" in the open version 7, then close and save the project, will the sketch be modified if I open version 2 of the project or will the sketch be as it was at the save date of version 2?

no, modifications to a design at version 7 will not affect earlier versions of the design.  You can always "promote" or open older versions and see them exactly as they were at the time they were saved.
