Advice on sketching a honeycomb pattern?

Greetings!

I have not been successful in making an accurate honeycomb pattern in a sketch for 3D printing. This is my latest attempt:

1) Polygon tool (I used a 15mm EDGE POLYGON)

2) Used Rectangular pattern to draw 6 more Horizontally

3) Someone gave me the tip to draw a diagonal line and use that (I used 105 degrees)

RECTANGULAR PATTERN AGAIN: selected all the horizontal polygons

selected my 105 degree line as the direction.

See picture, so not quite there. The 3D prints are my goal.

There has to be an easier way to do this.

Thanks.

Hi @disneytoy. What do you think about this:

You will find almost all tutorial making a Sketch Retangular Pattern, which can deteriorate you performance in next steps. You could consider making a Solid Retangular Pattern, where you will replicate a extruded hexagon.

Perfect, Thanks. My goal was to get this done and to be able to reuse the pastern for different 3D prints.

5 stars!
