Model file corrupted?

Anonymous

Hi,

I tried to upload my design to craftcloud3d and it says that my model file is corruptedcraftcloud snip.jpg. It says they detected an abnormally low model volume. What does that mean? Can i fix that? If so how?

Best regards

Marc

I think they're probably expecting an STL file or STEP. I very much doubt they can accept an F3D.

I've created a Windows application (and now Mac as well) for creating custom thread files for Fusion. You can find out about it here. Hope you find it useful.
If you need to know how to offset threads for 3D printing then I've created a guide here which you might find useful.
If you would like to send me a tip for any help I've provided or for any of my software applications you've found useful, you can do this via my Ko-Fi page here.

I agree the file format could be problematic.  .step would be better (probably).

The internal void area is problematic.  So are the thing walls containing the internal space on either end.  even if the file format is excepted, these things will probably kick it back out for review.

@laughingcreekI must admit I was a bit lazy and didn't even open the model! My excuse is I'm not feeling 100% (had a +ve covid test yesterday 😷). I've just tried to upload a couple of f3d files to CraftCloud and both failed with the same error as the OP's. That's not to say there isn't something 'suboptimal' about the geometry though 😉.

Thanks for the feedback. I already am working on changing the thickness of the walls. The thing with the void is i need the inner part to be hollow. Do you have any suggestion how i can achieve that without it being problematic?

To make the part printable, I would probably split this part in half and glue together (or liquid applied gasket with clamping).

from an engineering perspective, there are other things you want to consider, depends on what the end use is.

see attached model.  you might note that most everything is driven with the first 2 sketches.  looking at your model structure my comment would be your working to hard.

What do you mean by split this part? The end use is an irragation ring. Water is pumped through a tube to the ring to be distributed evenly on the growing medium. What things would i have to consider with that end use in mind? I guessed that my build was too complicated 😅. It was my first design ever that i did using fusion (also for the first time ever) with youtube vids as help. Took me 2 days (lol). I really appreciate the constructive criticism. What would you do to make it better/different? Any ideas?

Did you look at the model I attached?

although looking at it a second time, I would probably move the split location down from where it is on the first example.

Other suggestions would be dependent on what the requirements are.

Yes i looked at it but i thought it was one body until i now realized that there is a line between them. Move the split location down? I don't know what you mean exactly. What do you mean by requirements?
