Model and Patch

Hi

What is difference between Model and Patch modes. I understand purpose of Model but using of Patch not.

At least I noticed (Patch mode) that after Extrude command body is not solid but hollow.

Some example might be excellent...

Hi Ari,

The short answer is:  The Patch workspace is for creating/editing surface models, while the Model workspace is for solid models.  A surface model is usually thought of as just defining the outer boundary of a shape, while a solid model includes the internal material.  A surface model is often not closed, has not volume or mass, etc.  I can try to find some examples, but hopefully this distinction is clear.

This article:  solids_vs_surface_modeling_what_and_why_you_need_to_know summarizes it pretty well.

Hope this is helpful
