Model a line?

Is there any way to model a line (no thickness) on a body? I need the line to show after exporting a step-file and if I'm right I can't use a sketch since it wouldn't show later.

Split body will show up, also a crease, between two panels.

Might help….

The line I want to have modeled for manufacturing is not placed in a crease or splitting a body...

Any way to do this?

Does it helps if you export an iges file and use a plane surface to show what you want?

Unfortunately not. I hoped there was a way to create just a line, since it would help with creating the program for milling. I don't know what the command is called in other CAD programs, but I know that it is possible for example in Creo.

So far I have temporarily solved it by extruding a surface perpendicular from the line, like in the picture, which can be used in manufacturing. Skärmbild 2023-12-14 154357.png

You can select sketch curves for toolpaths, in Fusion CAM.  (Sometimes used with Trace)

if your "line" goes completely across the face(s) in question, you can use Split Face.  This adds an edge to the body that does come through STEP.  But, it does have the limitation that it cannot be just imprinted on part of the face.

Some CAD programs can export curves and lines in STEP and IGS files, unfortunately Fusion can't! If you can use DWG or DXF you can export solid bodies and curves.

I would use the Autodesk Inventor Professional - Mark command for this functionality...
