miter a sketch rectangle

Can someone tell me how to miter this slanted rectangle up on the left side so that the top and bottom lines go perpendicular to the main piece while retaining the angle?

Assuming the vertical and horizontal lines are in the same sketch as the tilted rectangle, you can use the trim command to remove the unwanted rectangle parts.  If they are not in the same sketch, then you can use the project command to create them in the tilted rectangle sketch.
