missing timeline

When I start a new sketch in a new file the timeline history isn't showing. It is showing an icon for sketch (see attached photo) but not the individual operations in it.

Anyone know how to correct this, I do have the setting enabled in preferences.

Thanks

@acuturn

It doesn't show anything for each operation in a sketch. That's normal.

It used to, how else are you supposed to roll back during sketch creation or suppress features etc on the fly?

No , it did not.  A sketch is one item in the timeline. The creation of individual sketch items, lines, arcs, circles, constraints etc. is not individually recorded in the timeline.

Hi @acuturn,

Thank you for your post in the Forum.

Yes, I can absolutely support what @PhilProcarioJr and @TrippyLighting have explained.

A sketch is a timeline feature. Any sketch entities will not show up in the timeline.

The only thing which will be visible, is the small red pin on the sketch icon which indicates that your sketch is fully constrained.

Here is the link to the Sketch learning videos.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and best regards,

The timeline set as default in Preferences, will be there on a new file, but empty,

As you build the file, the timeline grows, If you think it is off, right mouse click the top browser item, (file name), in that menu at the bottom, is "Capture"or "Do not Capture" toggle,

and the small wheel in the bottom right hand screen, is and Options menu, its there too.
