Measure the distance between 2 points on a path

I'm pretty new to Fusion 360 and have been trying different projects to help me learn. I've been searching for this answer and it seems the functionality I'm looking for may not exist. I've sketched some text and extruded it. Now I need to cut some holes for lights to fit through. Let's look at the letter P. I can use some diagonal construction lines to find the middle of the vertical part of the letter. For the round part, I can create construction lines from the points on the inside curve to the outside curve then run a spline through the midpoints. I want to create a pattern along the path from one point of the spline to another point on the spline, neither of which are an endpoint. There are two relatively easy ways to do that. The first is to click on the end points and evenly distribute. The second is to know the distance between the points and use the extent feature. It seems Fusion may not be able to do either one of those. The best I can come up with is to use spacing or extent, guess, then adjust. 31.1 is too far. 31.0 is not far enough. Let's try 31.05. Close. 31.07. That's close enough.

Am I missing something? I can only measure the straight line distance between the points or measure the length of the entire path.

Hi,

1. Create a new sketch

2. project the path and end points into the sketch > uncheck the Link option.

3. break the projected path at the desired points.

4. use the new path for your pattern

Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d on local drive  > attach it to the next post.
