Matching a Sketch to a Body

Hello,

Pretty new to Fusion, long time AutoCAD user.  I am getting the hang of it but have stumbled on what I would think is a basic task.  I have created a simple body by sketching a plane and extruding it into a cube.  I then placed holes into the new body.  While doing this I decided to add a little more material to the body so I used the push pull command to make the cube larger, but the sketch stayed the same and my holes seem to refrence the sketch.  I would like to make the sketch match the body but cannot get it to.  I have tried to edit the sketch, but cannot figure out how change the dimensions of it.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks,

Mike

If you created the body using one of the primitives (box, cylinder, sphee) then you're out of luck. These are direct modling primitives and the only way to change them is with the push-pull or extrude command.

If you created a sketch using the Sketch tools and then used the extrude or push pull command to creat the 3D shape from the sketch profile, then you should not use push-pul to chang ehte dimesins of the body but the items in the browser and timeline.

The sketch you created is in the browser and double clicking it will get you into sketch mode where you can edit the sketch to change the base dimensions of your body.

To change the height of the body, you shoud find the extrude feature in the timeline and edit that (right-click and select edit).

I'f you;re in deirect modeling mode and don;t have a timeline, then push-pull is your only recourse. The default mode, however, for new designs is with the design history (timeline) turned on.

I am pretty certain that this is covered in te basic tutorials in the "Learn" section 😉

Got back to working on this this morning and more or less started over, but it did not take long.  I firgured out the proper work flow of stating from a sketch, extruding, and ammending the extrusion by chaning the sketch dimensions rather than using the push pull command again.  Thanks!
