I wish to make a channel which goes around a circle with the channel being a semicircle. I already have the circle on a box.

please tell me the steps I need to take.

Welcome to Fusion!

This is relatively straightforward, I hope.

I assume that this is pretty much what you are starting with:

circular channel 1.png

the first step is to use the Plane Along Path to create a workplane along your circle:

circular channel 2.png

then, sketch on this plane:

circular channel 3.png

and use the Project Intersect to create a point in this sketch which is at the intersection of your circle and the new sketch:

Then, create the circle for your channel, with its center at this point:

And use Sweep, choose the small circle as a profile, and the larger one as the path:

and, voila:

circular channel 8.png

I hope that this is what you were trying to achieve

Hi stewartryrie,

Jeff's solution is a fine way to do it. Another way is once you have the box and circle sketch as Jeff has shown you can use the Pipe tool under the Create to get the same result.

Result:

Like any modeling application Fusion offers more than one approach to accomplishing your design intent.  As you get more fluent in using Fusion these different approaches will be clearer as to what is appropriate for you.

hope this helps
