lukepighetti,

I am sorry to hear that you lost your Fusion 360 icon.

Here is a general link on adding and removing Dock Icons for your Mac:

Adding and Removing Dock Icons in Mac OS X

Please let us know if this does not resolve your issue.

Thank you.

in you home folder on OS X there is an Applications folder.

In finder from the menu, select Go -> Home -> Applications

There is a shortcut to Fusion 360.

Drag it to your dock.

Since Fusion is always updating, we don;t want to bother user with entering their password all the time. By using the user's application directory these automatic updates can happen without interrupting you.

Having used macs for 20 years, you dont have to enter a password to update an app in the Applications folder.  I find the location of the Fusion 360 app extremely weird and completely unlike any other mac program.  The way you guys have done it is not correct nor needed, IMO.

Furthermore, I have never had a shortcut to Fusion 360 in my Applications folder on the two different Mac I use Fusion on.  To open Fusion 360 (when its not in my Dock) I have to use a special program just to find it (Launchbar).

FYI, I'd rather enter my password than not be able to find the app at all 🙂   (Also in Portland, OR!)

Cheers!

Fusion team does things on Mac side in an extremely unconventional way. I've accepted that it will probably always be this way.
