I'm trying to design a bridge; one side of the bridge comes out the way it should; the other adds curves even though both sides should be identical.

You need to add more guide rail and constrain your sketches.  Model is attached.

that definitely solved my issue. how do you get your rails to match up to the points you want? I have spent the last 30 minutes trying to find the right utube video but I cant get the points to match.
