Loft with rail

I am trying to create a loft between the two non symmetric profiles. Sometimes this works fine without the rail but with it this error code pops up.

When the rail tangent to profiles it says

Modeling Error: Rail(s) cannot be tangent to profiles!

When the rail is not tangent to profiles it says
The selected rail does not touch all of the profiles!

Sometimes F360 is really annoying doing basic things. Okay I'm not expert but how can I know what it needs?raişls.PNG

had a look at your file and the sketches are not of good quality. If you fix and simplify the sketches the loft will work.

use straight lines, 3 point arcs or splines to create a good quality sketch.

good luck

Along with what @stiller.design has to say, I recommend starting over with design history turned on and do not create a base feature. One of your sketches should be on one of the three origin planes with some point referenced to the origin. Both sketches should also be fully defined with dimensions and constraints.

Hi ,

if you see your sketch curvature you will see some issue that make the profile not clear and make some issue like self intersects
you should make a clear sketch with lines connecting not separated  , less points as possible as the sketch needed

See this screencast

It was an imported *.dxf file but I redraw it quickly and the loft works now.
I need to have a sketch tutorial but the problem is now if i move any line of the sketch it becomes an open profile. Even all the points are coincident it is open profile and I can't find the problem.
It is a 3D sketch now. Is it impossible to move 3D sketch in closed profile?

What is it you want to do?

The last extrude seems to work.

The file is not structured, you have 2 faces in that body that could lie flat on an origin plane.

There are no black sketch articles because the sketches are 3d sketches, (difficult to control)  Edits to the sketch need the Move Tool.

Might help....

Move tool doesn't work. Just trying to move the red circled area and it becomes an open profile.

Where to?

Press Ok, and the profile updates.

No, it is the sketch3 or sketch4. You move it but it becomes open profile. Thanks anyway.

Makes no difference, whatever has to be moved, difficult because the sketch is not on a plane, but not impossible.

Without a Screencast, I can’t see how you are selecting, what you are selecting, or where you are putting it.  Profiles will form or break, if it is or not a planar Flat outline.  Problem will not arise in a 2d sketch.

Make a plane thought 3 points and redraw it on a plane, then changing a dimension.

i was able to keep the profile flat, by very careful alignment of the triad before moving anything.

You can have a 3d sketch create a closed profile, but it's hard to maintain.  All the lines have to be planer to each other (not just form a closed loop) and as soon as you move a point they won't be planer anymore.  and it can be hard to get back to a planer condition.

there are a few cases where a 3d sketch is needed, but this isn't one of them.  making your life harder not defining planes for your sketches.
