I tried to do a quite basic ring shape with two different shaped/sized profiles. Didn't manage to do it, got an error message about profiles. Any suggestions how to do it? Shared link: http://a360.co/23SDLNr

This loft is definitely possible.  I would recommend choosing the outer circle as a "centerline rail"

Try adding a second loft rail.  This can also be done with 2 sketches not 4.
