Loft issue - G1/G2

Hi all

Hi all

I found an issue related to Loft tool.
If I try to apply G1 or G2 between a 2 of parallel planes the command does not work as expected. It seems a bug..

Any idea?

Hmm... I'm not sure, either.  It seems like a bug to me as well.  Let me check with the modeling kernel folks.  It seems to be only the case where the two edges are exactly aligned.  If they are offset vertically, it seems to work:

@Anonymous.starter, NOOOOO... not another loft bug!!  Lofting is so amazing when things work.  I hope getting loft generally fixed is a priority over there.

The original example does work if you put a spline rail in.  2 point spline, corner to corner, with smooth constraint at each end.

Yes, it is! the loft tool is highly schizophrenic, however, and suffers from a multi personality disorder. One of them is OK, the others are mean and evil.

Even when you finally get it lofter sometimes then the fillet tool puts up a vicious fight and either does not fillet at all, or the fillet stops halfway through the edge. I am not making this up either. Ive seen that just today!

The explanation for the filleting difficulties is often easy to see when you use the curvature map analysis.

Thus I also how that the loft code is top priority. And maybe, just maybe the kernel is in need of a significant update so it starts creating better surfaces.
