loft fails because of no intersection of curve with a vertex? what?

I am not sure what the problem here is - should be an easy task to loft two trimmed edges.

Hey Claas,

 

Playing with the options, I find that the loft computes successfully if I use the Closed option in the Patch > Loft command, see below.

but a closed loft option for an open surface does not make sense!

the loft code here simply has a problem Alias and Rhino does it fine.

I have reported this incident to development for further investigation. I agree with you, it doesn't seem like the closed option which according to the online help,  "Enable(s) to connect the first and last profiles to create a closed loft," should impact the behavior in this example. Thank you for your dilegence and for reporting this. As soon as I have any information regarding this issue, I will post an update here. Please let me know if you have any questions in the mean while.
