Linking a drawing to a different design file

I have a design that is similar to another one.  I built my first design and did drawings.  Then, I made a copy of both the design file and drawing.  I made my modifications to the design file, but when I open the drawing it is linked to the original design file.

Is there a way to change the link from my drawing file to link to my new design file?

Hi,

No, changes are always made to the source design.

No you can't change the file a drawing is linked to. What you need to do is download the 2d drawing from your hub, this will be an F3Z file containing the 2d drawing and the 3d part. Then upload the F3Z to another project to create new drawing and part.

EDIT

Forgot you can create a copy of a part now in Fusion's browser and also copy the drawing. You should get this option when you try to create a copy of a part.

for the work flow your describing, instead of making a copy, export the drawing instead.  the export has to be done from the web portal, not the data panel in fusion.  you'll be emailed a link to a .f3z file to download.  up load this file back to fusion, but to a DIFFERNT folder than the original.   I suggest changing the names of the drawing and the model right away to avoid confusion with the original.
